2010 B's Benefit Bash

Scholarship Essay Contest Rules

Eligibility:
Applicant must be:
1) a rostered player on a team entered in the tournament and
2) a class of 2010 high school graduate and
3) planning to enroll in college or other school before December 31st, 2010.

The Essay
The applicant must write a 500-600 word essay on the topic “Giving Hope When It is Needed the Most” and what it means to them.  No pictures. 

The essay must be emailed to essay@brianamariecoxfoundation.org no later than 11:59 pm May 29, 2010.

The essay must be typed Microsoft Word or text file format.

The essay must have a first page indicating the:
1) Applicant name, email address, and telephone number
2) Name of team for which the player appears on a roster.  If this information is unknown at the time of submission please so indicate.
3) A statement indicating the player is a 2010 high school graduate and plans on attending college within one year.
4) A statement the player is the sole author of the essay.

The Winner
The winner, as determined solely by the Briana Marie Cox Foundation, will receive a $500 college scholarship.   The winner’s name and photograph may be used on the Foundation web site. The scholarship will be paid by the Foundation directly to the school in which the winner provides proof of enrollment.  This proof is typically in the form of a student id and the contact information for a person in the school financial aid office.

Privacy
Essays remain with the Briana Marie Cox Foundation and their contents will not be reproduced or otherwise published in any way without the expressed written consent of the applicant.
